Monica's Mercato

Monica's first opened its doors in March of 1995, occupying a small store front on Prince Street in Boston's North End. The four young brothers of the Mendoza family catered to their neighborhood's culinary appetite with a commitment to quality and consistency, offering a menu of hot and cold sandwiches. Monica’s Mercato (Italian for market) located at 130 Salem Street, provided North End residents with everyday products such as homemade breads, fresh pasta, sauces and other groceries. From the day they opened, Monica's Mercato has continued to grow throughout Boston, sharing their creative yet authentic ideas with the city.
